Pea (Snap) 'Sugar Sprint' is a vigorous and mildew resistant variety that will provide a bountiful harvest in your garden. This early maincrop variety has a compact and bushy habit, making it perfect for smaller gardens or allotments, and produces high yields of sweet and tender peas.
Good mildew resistance ensures that you can extend your harvests with successive sowings, making 'Sugar Sprint' an excellent choice for gardeners looking for a reliable and productive pea variety. Packed with vitamins C, K, and A, these peas are not just delicious but also good for you. Ideal for deep freezing, you can enjoy the taste of summer all year round.
Sowing instructions:
Sow outdoors where they are to crop, in flat drills 15cm (6") wide and 5cm (2") deep. Sow in a zig-zag fashion along the drill, allowing 5cm (2") between seeds. Fill the drill with fine soil and firm down gently. Allow 90cm (3Æ) between rows. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 10-18 days.
Early sowings benefit from frost protection. Provide canes or netting for support. Water well until plants are established. Successional sowings will ensure a continuous supply and long harvest. Pick regularly for the best yields.
When planting protect seedlings from birds with twigs or bird scarers and ensure to water well during dry spells.
